Amy has always been committed to humanitarian work particularly through youth empowerment as demonstrated by work experience as well as her years of dedicated volunteer work. While at university she assisted with the launch of Hemoglobal, a NGO dedicated to supporting young people with genetic blood disorders out of the Toronto General Hospital. Amy has also volunteered with YOUCAN (Youth Canada Association) where she chaired the Board of Directors for 4 years, developed their most recent Strategy and delivered conflict resolution and peacebuilding training to diverse audiences all over Canada.
Amy has been a dedicated staff and volunteer with the Canadian Red Cross for the past 22 years, and currently works with the organization as Deputy Chief of Staff/Corporate Secretary and National Manager, Youth Strategy in Office of the Secretary General where her role involves working with the operations to implement the organizations strategy and to manage the implementation and vision for the youth engagement strategy.
